I got kicked out of high school for missing too much time, even though I was still able to maintain good grades and catch up on work when allowed to (the guidance counselor saw fit to go around to my teachers and tell them not to let me make up work). I don't know my GPA. I was later informed by a doctor I probably had agoraphobia and a social anxiety disorder, hence why all the missed time although no one caught it earlier. But ever since getting kicked out of high school my life has been a mess and I don't know what to do. I'd like to pursue my childhood dream of becoming a paleontologist, but I don't think it's possible to get into a college with my poor high school situation, and even if I could, I don't have the money or diploma. I can't get my diploma because I don't have money for the test, and I can't get money because of job position requires a diploma. It's a vicious cycle. I can't even get unemployment because I haven't worked long enough. What can I do?
Further, and despite the fact a GED is *supposed* to be equivalent to a high school diploma, I know that GEDs and high school "drop-outs" are still looked down upon. How can I catch a break?
